In early in imperial history, Peridirya was a center for bog iron extraction and refining. However, as larger and richer veins were found in the mountains, its importance faded. Now a town of merely thousands, the crumbling city walls are a fair distance from the last inhabited house, and the large furnaces that once burned so bright stand silent.

A town marked by decline, wounded pride and memories of grandeur. Now just decrepit enough to start looking longingly at the neighbors (dry) lawns.

The people of Peredirya think of themselves as bog hardened, compared to their grass fed lawn neighbors that catch their death of cold at the lightest drizzle.
