Description

Very tall with long but thin whispy gray hair down to the small of her back. Her once blue eyes are now the misty gray of the dead deep within sunken sockets. Her skin the color of old parchment, dry and stretched over emaciated features.

Often seen wearing flowing moss green robes, hands hidden in the wide sleeves or holding a tall staff crowned with a perch for birds. Her head is adorned with a leather tricorne in the field or a saturno during mass.

When in the field she also wears a hauberk over her robes, adorned with coins on strings and other various charms that make ringing noises when she moves. As any self respecting Leubocker she is at all times wearing high thick leather boots or galoshes.

Background

She was an unwanted child. Being born an illegitimate child of Lord Propitious II of Leubock was of course a problem. But more so being born by the Holy Mother at that time, Cindera Fen; a Holy Mother should not have children of her own, but stay celibate and treat the entire congregation as her offspring. Indeed, any romantic relationship is forbidden for a Holy Mother.

Upon discovering her pregnancy Cindera “went on a pilgrimage” following the Chourtian trail that winds through the nearby wetlands, but in actuality she took up lodgings in an old hunters hut in the swamps, bringing with her a single acolyte sworn to secrecy. After birthing Mirea Cindera went deep into the swamps to drown the yet unnamed child.

It is said a great storm swept through the lands that night and rain and lightning poured from the sky. The acolyte, keeping vigil according to secret ritual meant to avoid the creation of a myling, chanted through the night into the morning hours when the storm subsided. A shilling cry from the swamps woke her from deep meditation and she set out into the swamp in the bleak morning sunlight to find its source. Among the lilies and reeds of a murky pool she found Mirea raised above the waters by two rigid bone white arms clutching her with death stiffness.

The child was brought back to The Sunken Temple as a foundling along with the news that the swamps had claimed the life of Cindera Fen. She was taken in and raised by the brothers and sisters of The Blessed Fen Order. They called her Mirea and she was given the family name Moor as customary for bastards and others without lineage.

Long story short: The acolyte keeps her vow of secrecy. Mirea joins the holy order and through the years rises through the ranks as a sister. She is anointed and decides to take the sunken journey below. Ie self mummification through asceticism, meditation and drinking a brew made of bark - then when pulse is barely detectable she is lowered into the swamp att a holy site for 100 days. Her body would then be placed in a catacomb with other sunken called the hall of whispers used to listen for to the voices of rhe swamp. However on the 99th day of her submersion she rises of her own volition, not alive and not dead, claiming that it has been revealed to her she is of Leubock-Bold blood as well as daughter of a holy mother. She also awoke to a previously unknown ambition - to to lead and to claim and conquer. Backed by zealots and almost everyone else in Leubock disgruntled with the duke she outmanoeuvred the duke and his two living heirs, asserting she is the oldest ~living Leubock-Bold child. (The heirs got to take the sunken journey, so that's nice)
