A little more than a century ago, Humble was the site of a great earthquake that levelled much of the town and drew the grand fortifications into the sea. Since then, none of the dukes Alacsony have been able to find the funds to rebuild the defenses, even as people have moved back in. Signs of the earthquake can still be found in half-destroyed houses that haven't yet been cleared up.
