====== Department of Enhanced Inquiry ======
The Department of Enhanced Inquiry, or **DEI**, is the arm of Imperial bureaucracy tasked with keeping tabs on the magic-users of the realm. Founded in 876, following the [[countries:eternal empire:stanag's rebellion|Rebellion]] of the [[people:Grand Wizard Stanag]], which depopulated and split off [[regions:Sickos Island]] from the mainland, it is a secretive and highly dogmatic group of assassins and spies. Their job is to make sure wizard's don't get any ideas that are //too// bright--and if they do, employ them in the service of the Empire. This means DEI agents have a fairly good idea where every mage is at most times.
