====== Science!, or tech level bullshit ====== As a rule, the tech level is very roughly comparable to our 18th century, though it runs more on what is narratively appropriate((or funny)) than precise, modern science. Therefore, it’s Science!, not //science//, to steal a term from Girl Genius. A nascent industrial revolution is probably underway in the largest cities as small and inefficient steam engines displace manual labour((i.e. slaves you don’t need to house or feed)), but not much more than that. Traditionally, local witches and wizards have been able to boost crop yields slightly, and provide better medicine compared to our world. Technology and magic are somewhat opposing forces, since machinery and science relies on reality doing what it does in its predictable manner whereas magic hinges on reality not doing that. This manifests in machinery having issues near magic, or conversely, magic ceasing to be near machinery.
