FTP operates on a client-server model, where the client initiates a connection to the server to transmit or retrieve files. FTP uses two channels for communication: a control channel and a data channel. The protocol operates over the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), which ensures reliable and ordered delivery of data packets.

FTPS can operate in two modes: explicit and implicit. In implicit mode, the connection is secured from the start, using a different port (990) for the control channel. FTPS, or FTP Secure, is another secure alternative to FTP that combines the traditional FTP protocol with SSL/TLS encryption.

Choosing between FTP, SFTP, and FTPS ultimately depends on the specific needs of the user or organization. FTPS is also a viable option for those who prefer the FTP structure but require encryption. For those who prioritize security and need to transfer sensitive data, SFTP is often the best choice due to its strong encryption and straightforward configuration. However, for non-sensitive data transfers where speed and simplicity are more critical, traditional FTP may suffice. Understanding these differences is crucial for making an informed decision about which file transfer protocol to use.

Unlike FTP, SFTP operates over a single connection, using the SSH (Secure Shell) protocol to encrypt the data being transmitted. This encryption ensures that all data, including credentials and files, is secure from potential interception. SFTP, which stands for SSH File Transfer Protocol, is a secure alternative to FTP.

These records are stored on [[https://check-port.com/fr/dns-lookup|recherche DNS en ligne]] servers and are crucial for translating human-readable domain names (like www.example.com) into machine-readable IP addresses (like 192.0.2.1). DNS records facilitate this translation and manage various services associated with a domain. A DNS record is a database entry that provides information about a domain name. This translation is essential because while humans prefer to remember names, computers operate using numerical IP addresses.

If you're a Mac user and need to find your IP address, you’re in the right place. In today's digital age, knowing your IP address is essential for various reasons, from troubleshooting network issues to configuring devices. This guide will walk you through several methods to locate your IP address on a Mac, whether you’re using a wired or wireless connection.

This file is typically located in the PostgreSQL data directory, which can vary based on the operating system and installation method. To allow PostgreSQL to accept remote connections, you need to modify the `postgresql.conf` file.

It includes settings such as the listening addresses and port. pg_hba.conf: This file controls client authentication, defining which hosts can connect to which databases and which authentication methods they can use. postgresql.conf: This file contains configuration parameters for the PostgreSQL server.

Locate Your IP Address: After executing the command, you’ll see a list of network interfaces. Your IP address will be listed next to "inet". It will look something like this:
```
inet 192.168.1.5
``` Look for "en0" for a wired connection or "en1" for a wireless connection.

Setting up remote access for PostgreSQL on port 5432 involves modifying the `postgresql.conf` and `pg_hba.conf` files, restarting the PostgreSQL service, and configuring firewall settings. By following these steps, you can ensure that your PostgreSQL database is accessible from remote locations while maintaining security through appropriate authentication methods. Proper configuration is essential for performance and security, so always review your settings and test the connection after making changes.

By following the methods outlined in this guide, you’ll be equipped to quickly locate your IP address whenever needed. Whether you’re a tech novice or a seasoned user, these steps will help you navigate your Mac with ease.

AAAA Record: Similar to the A record, the AAAA record maps a domain name to an IPv6 address. As the internet transitions from IPv4 to IPv6 due to the exhaustion of available IPv4 addresses, AAAA records are becoming increasingly important.

PostgreSQL is a powerful, open-source object-relational database system that uses and extends the SQL language. This report outlines the detailed steps required to set up remote access to PostgreSQL on port 5432, ensuring a secure and efficient connection. By default, PostgreSQL listens for connections on port 5432. Configuring PostgreSQL for remote access can be crucial for applications that require database connectivity from different machines or environments.

In this article, we will guide you through the steps required to change your default SSH port, ensuring your server remains secure and your data protected. This simple modification can significantly reduce the risk of automated attacks and unauthorized access attempts. One effective way to enhance your server's security is by changing the default SSH (Secure Shell) port from the standard port 22 to a custom port. In an era where cyber threats are increasingly sophisticated, securing your server has never been more critical.(Image: [[https://the-catcher-in-the-fx.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/4f2de24584cab2688199307ff36bba7f.png|https://the-catcher-in-the-fx.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/4f2de24584cab2688199307ff36bba7f.png]])
