When the response comes back from the internet, the router uses its NAT table to translate the public IP address back to the appropriate private IP address, ensuring that the response reaches the correct device. When a device (e.g., a computer) sends a request to access the internet, the router modifies the packet's source address from the private IP address to the public IP address. In the case of Tech Innovations, the router employs NAT to translate the private IP addresses of devices on the LAN into the public IP address assigned by the ISP.

This guide will walk you through various methods to locate your IP address on a Mac, ensuring you have the information you need at your fingertips. Whether you’re troubleshooting a network issue, setting up a server, or simply curious about your network configuration, knowing your IP address is essential. Finding your IP address on a Mac is a straightforward task that can be accomplished in several ways.

If the DNS records have been recently changed, the updated information must be propagated across various DNS servers before it can be accessed by users. DNS propagation refers to the time it takes for DNS servers worldwide to update their records after a change has been made to a domain's DNS settings. Each time a user types a domain name into their browser, a DNS query is initiated to resolve that name into an IP address.

DNS Server Updates: Different DNS servers update their records at different intervals. This inconsistency can lead to situations where some users see the updated DNS records immediately, while others may still be accessing the old records.

Testing the Configuration: After configuring NAT and port forwarding, the IT team tests the setup by accessing the website from an external network. They enter the public IP address into a web browser and confirm that the website loads successfully. This validation ensures that the port forwarding is working correctly and that external users can access the web server.

The use of port 443 and HTTPS significantly enhances user trust. This visual cue reassures users that their data is safe, which is particularly important for e-commerce sites where users enter sensitive financial information. Websites that utilize HTTPS are often marked with a padlock icon in the web browser's address bar, indicating a secure connection.

The web server processes the request and sends back the response through the same path. The request reaches the router, which sees that it is destined for [[http://www.shanxihongyuan.cn/comment/html/?95612.html|check port]] 80. The router checks its port forwarding rules and finds that incoming traffic on port 80 should be forwarded to the internal IP address of the web server. A user from outside the network enters the public IP address of Tech Innovations in their web browser. The router modifies the packet and sends it to the web server.

Data transmitted between clients and the Redis server can be intercepted if not encrypted. This requires building Redis with TLS support and configuring it in the `redis.conf` file: To secure data in transit, enable TLS/SSL encryption.

The company has a router with a public IP address of 203.0.113.5 and an internal web server with a private IP address of 192.168.1.10. To illustrate the practical application of NAT and port forwarding, let’s examine how Tech Innovations set up its network.

If Tech Innovations wants to allow external users to access its web server, it needs to implement port forwarding. While NAT effectively manages outgoing traffic, it can complicate incoming traffic. Port forwarding is a technique that directs incoming traffic on a specific port to a designated device on the LAN.

(Image: [[https://i.ytimg.com/vi/h__LGnWwRtY/hq720.jpg|https://i.ytimg.com/vi/h__LGnWwRtY/hq720.jpg]])NAT is a networking technique that allows multiple devices on a local network to share a single public IP address. This is especially important for organizations with limited public IP addresses or those that want to enhance security by hiding internal IP addresses from the outside world.

Your IP address will be listed next to "inet" (e.g., inet 192.168.1.2). Locate Your IP Address: The Terminal will display a lot of information about your network interfaces. Look for the section labeled "en0" or "en1" (these correspond to your Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections, respectively).

(Image: [[https://i.ytimg.com/vi/h__LGnWwRtY/hq720.jpg|https://i.ytimg.com/vi/h__LGnWwRtY/hq720.jpg]])NAT Configuration: The router is set up to use NAT, allowing all devices on the LAN to access the internet using the public IP address. The NAT table keeps track of which internal IP addresses correspond to which outgoing requests.

For example, Tech Innovations hosts its website on a server that listens on port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS). To enable external access to this web server, the router must be configured to forward incoming traffic on these ports to the internal IP address of the web server.

By setting a password in the `redis.conf` file, you can prevent unauthorized access. Use the `requirepass` directive to specify a strong password: Redis provides a simple password authentication mechanism.
