However, it is often made under pressure from parents or based on exam scores rather than genuine interest, and many students later regret the path they were pushed into.

The dreams of pupils here are as varied as the archipelago itself. A number hope to study internationally, others focus on local institutions, and many simply want to find stable work to support their families. Academic and familial pressure is intense, but so is the resilience of young people navigating a system that is still developing.
